Fifth Grade Families

Fifth Grade Families… it is an exciting time for the fifth graders as they embark on their final year at Bowman School! There will be many special activities planned for the fifth graders this year and we need your help to make them a success. We are collecting donations from 5th grade families to help fund these special activities. If you’re able, we suggest donating $25–$35 per student to cover the costs for all these events, but we appreciate donations of any amount! There are two ways to donate:

Donate by check

Send a check to the Bowman office, made out to the Bowman PTO. Please earmark “5th Grade Activities Donation” on the envelope.

Donate online

1] Login to https://bowmanpta.membershiptoolkit.com. Go to “Store”, and click on “Donations” in the store and data forms section. Then, enter the amount you would like to donate in the line item for “5th Grade Activities Contribution”.

2] If you have not already set up your account at https://bowmanpta.membershiptoolkit.com this year, please create an account with the same email address you used in the past for myschoolanywhere, then confirm your family information after receiving an email confirmation from Membership Toolkit.

With these donations, ALL fifth graders will receive a class t-shirt which they will wear while they work the Spaghetti Dinner. Near the end of the year, students will also have a Luau party, Moving On ceremony and reception, and receive a class yearbook and a secure link to a whole class video. Please contact Fifth Grade Activities Chairs Liza Leventhal or Elisabeth Moeller at [email protected] if you’d like to volunteer or if you have additional questions. Thank you for your support!

LEF Trivia Bee

Monday, November 4, 7pm, Lexington High School Auditorium

The PTA is supporting two teams from Bowman – come and cheer on our Bowman teams!

Team #1: “The Straight A’s” Bowman Teachers: Sean Avery, Lauren Archibald, and Maggie Aikenhead.

Team #2: “Bee-wildered” Bowman Parents: Sarah Carter, Matt Carter, and Victor Gorospe

Lexington Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that brings the community together to support the Lexington Public Schools in fostering innovation in teaching and learning to provide our children a world-class education.

Picture Retake Day

Wednesday, November 13th

If anyone is not completely satisfied with their school pictures this year, or your child missed picture day for some reason, there is still a chance to have them retaken! Send your child to school on Wednesday November 13th in their best picture day outfit, and they can have them retaken free of charge. Just make sure to send any pictures you received to hand in (minus the class picture, you keep that), and they can try again. FYI, retakes are taken inside so the backdrop will be different.

Any questions, please email Michelle Andronaco at [email protected]

Ready… Set… Compost!

If you’re interested in composting, helping the environment, or just seeing what really goes on in the cafeteria, help out with the lunchtime composting program!

Parent volunteers help direct students throughout the lunch period to the compost, recycling, and trash receptacles. All of Bowman’s food waste is now diverted from the trash to our partner, Black Earth Compost. No experience needed – it’s very simple, and we’ll tell you everything you need to know. You can sign up for as few – or as many! – shifts as you would like, or even just come in occasionally as a substitute.

Want to see it in action and help our students become even better stewards of the environment? Please email [email protected], if you have any questions or would like to be added to the volunteer list (you will NOT be automatically added to the schedule!).

Thank You!
